Andre Harriott is a Toronto-based educator, writer, and emerging filmmaker. His educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from York University in 2017 and a Master of Teaching degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in 2019.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Andre has worked as a Research Associate with weSpeak, a community-based project focusing on the social determinants of Black men’s health in Ontario, and as a Peer Researcher with Social Planning Toronto, where he examined the impacts of academic streaming on high school students and families in Toronto’s Weston-Mount Dennis community.
Currently, Andre works as a high school guidance counsellor with the Toronto District School Board. He also serves as a Summer Research Associate with the TDSB’s Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement, where he instructs Black youth in conducting Youth Participatory Action Research.
